Electric Cooker

Overall, a nice cooker at a good price.
Just wish the company would do a prior
burn-off of the cooking pan before
shipping to customer. Very nasty,
especially when outdoor space to do
it is limited.

sharp edges

After reading reviews I ordered this roaster. I needed it for Thanksgiving to cook a big turkey. When I opened the box I saw that the lid was dented and discolored. The cookwell had really sharp edges. I decided to keep it because I really didn't have enough time to order a different one. It took 7 hours for the burn off to get rid of the smell. I cut my fingers twice while cleaning the cookwell. I don't know if all the nesco roasters are like this or if I got a bad one. The turkey tasted OK, but not as good as if cooked in the oven.

A Best Choice of Roaster Ovens

I entertain a lot and enjoy cooking so this was a great improvement and time saver in my kitchen. I prefer the surround heat in this unit to the radiant heat of a standard oven. I've prepared several dishes (roasting, brazing, frying and just plain baking) already and now waiting for a good excuse to do a turkey and prime rib roast. It is easy to clean and easy to store.
This is a quality piece of equipment, and a good value. Nesco's customer service ladies are friendly, helpful and answering your questions and their web site has some great recipes. Take a look;
